🧬 RENAPT + MI-SIM: Tagging native proteins with precision In a recent Nature Chemical Biology study, researchers used RENAPT — an RNA editing-based protein tagging method — to label endogenous proteins without genetic overexpression. Our MI-SIM imaging clearly showed RENAPT’s high specificity, co-localising tagged proteins with organelles like lysosomes and mitochondria. The approach works in live cells and supports super-resolution imaging. 🔗Read more https://lnkd.in/dY-4w38j #Imaging #Biotech #Microscopy

🔬Research spotlight: seeing lysosomal acidity in sharp detail In new Cell research, scientists uncovered how the transporter SLC7A11 regulates lysosomal pH — offering new clues into mechanisms behind Parkinson’s disease. Standard microscopy wouldn’t cut it. To distinguish membrane from lumen, the team turned to our MI-SIM super-resolution platform. With MI-SIM, they clearly visualised SLC7A11 forming ring-like structures around the lysosomal lumen — a pattern that would blur into overlap on a confocal system. We’re proud to see MI-SIM support this level of insight, click the link to read the paper 👉 https://lnkd.in/dyGwMyfS #CellBiology #Neuroscience #SuperResolution #Microscopy #Lysosomes

Welcoming our new Project R&D Manager 🇨🇳🇩🇪 We’re excited to share a few highlights from Raj’s recent trip to China, where he hit the ground running—meeting the team and exploring the local area. As Raj puts it: “What an incredible start to my journey! The team's warmth and welcoming spirit have made me feel right at home since day one. Beyond diving into optical setups, I've loved exploring local Chinese cuisine on weekend outings with colleagues – my chopstick skills are now almost as sharp as our new tech!” From sharing hotpot with the team to shaping ideas for upcoming projects, it’s been a great visit — and we can’t wait for him to bring that same energy to our growing German team. 📸 Rajwinder S. #Microscopy #Imaging #Biotech

🔬 New insights into how ARL3 mutations affect cilia—powered by MI-SIM imaging. A recent study in The FASEB Journal used CSR Biotech’s MI-SIM technology to visualise cilia structure in fibroblasts from patients with ARL3 (T31A) and ARL3 (T31A/C118F) mutations. MI-SIM revealed that in the T31A/C118F variant, the transport protein IFT88 accumulated at the tip of the cilia—unlike in wild-type cells, where it remained at the base. These structural changes were linked to disrupted transport, longer cilia, and altered gene expression in key pathways. This work deepens understanding of how specific ARL3 variants shape disease mechanisms at the cellular level. 📖https://lnkd.in/edC3cu79 #Disease #Biotechnology #MISIM
